Forty-five miles south of Tucson and 24 miles north of the Arizona/Mexico border at Nogales, the town of Tubac is flanked by the dramatic Santa Rita Mountains to its east and the Tumacácori Mountains to its west, both ranges rising to almost 6,000 feet above the floor of the Sonoran Desert. It is a beautiful oasis featuring the environmentally important Santa Cruz River and an incredible diversity of native flora and fauna.

TUBAC
Where art, history, and nature meet
Tubac is only 11 square miles in size, but it enjoys an outsized place in Arizona's history. Through the centuries it has been home to Native American tribes, Spanish and Mexican explorers and settlers, Jesuit and Franciscan missionaries, and American miners, pioneers, farmers, ranchers, entrepreneurs and artisans.
The town is today known as a popular art, history and nature destination. For three years running it has been voted the country's "Best Small Town Arts Scene" by USA Today. It's a well-earned reputation thanks to its many fine art galleries, sculpture gardens, arts and crafts boutiques, and pottery and furniture artisans workshops. A robust food scene is also part of the town's perennial appeal.
Lovely in winter, Tubac enjoys notably cooler temperatures in the summer compared to Phoenix or Tucson. And year-round, the town's residents consider it a truly great place to kick back and enjoy life.
